Hello Artlandish Folks

I know… another month and no post. What a shame, but I assure you that I’ll be puttin’ up arts soon. As of right now, I’m in the process of UVing. Not my favorite thing, but hey it pays the bills… wait… no it doesn’t. It actually is pretty boring, but a necessary evil. I’ve never been one for jigsaw puzzles, but UVing has given me a slight appreciation for them. Anyhow, I just got this tool called “Roadkill” which is supposed to be a nifty way to speed up the unwrap process so we’ll see how it goes. Keep tuned in and dropped out.

Small Update

Just added in some more geometry to the terrain. Did some looking for tool to do some random extrusions, which is essentially what I’m doing for the terrain, to no avail. Maybe it’s time to get back into mel. Maybe…

It’s been a while.

Well… not that long, but a couple of weeks I think.

Terrain pass. Not sure how far I’m going to take this… I’m mainly doing this as a beginning zBrush exercise. I’m taking this as a base mesh into zBrush, sculpting the details onto the terrain and bringing it back in to maya. Wish me luck.

Final Model Details on the Tanker/Refiner

Added some tubes and connectors to the base and top for a bit more realism.

Apr 14 2010

More tank/refiner details

Added in a base and did some finalization on the model. Just need to put in some tubes and I think this will be about done for it’s purposes.

Some detail elements for the tank/refiner

Minor stuff here, but worth the post.

Storage/Refining tanks

Just a quick update. I think I’m almost there with the modeling on the objects. I’ll start doing the terrain soon.

More progress

So just put a couple of finishing touches on the well model. I’ll probably go back and put some smoothing on some of the geometry that’s showing angularity. For the amount of limited time I’ve put in on this, I think it’s OK. End the end, it’s all about blowing this thing up.

Some supports for the transfer/crank cases.
